Family Migration

If your relatives become permanent residents of Canada, they are eligible to live, study, and work in. If you are at least 18 years old, a Canadian citizen, a person who is designated as an Indian under the Canadian Indian Act, or a permanent resident of Canada, you may sponsor certain relatives to immigrate to Canada.

You can sponsor your partner, spouse, dependent children, adopted children, parents, grandparents, relatives, or grandchildren. Under the Canada Family Visa program, a sponsee’s application is typically processed in 12 months.
